What's the best toothpaste?
From bottles, fountains, filters and taps, we drink water everyday. But what if the water you were drinking -- water you rely on to live -- could be harming you? That's what many scientists and educated consumers believe may be the case with our current public water supplies.
Fluoride is a prescribed medication that most cities in the United States have added to public water supplies, and it's a medication that isn't right for everyone.
For years cities have been adding fluoride into public water supplies in an effort to improve dental health. Sounds good right? But there's a problem: while topical fluoride can indeed help prevent cavities when applied directly to your teeth, ingesting fluoride has never been proven to be beneficial. In fact, many studies suggest connections between fluoride and bone cancer, among other things.
Find out why you may be forced to ingest a medication against your will, what you can do about it, and if you should be concerned at all in this episode of Dangers in Dentistry.

The Evil Diet Soda...
We all know by now that soda (aka "pop" in some areas) is one of the most evil things you can put in your body... the nasty chemicals, the gut-fattening high fructose corn syrup, and a myriad of health problems caused by this carbonated cocktail worshiped by those that don't care about their health or body.
Surprisingly, many people falsely believe that "diet" soda is in some way a good thing for losing body fat. In fact, I hear people all the time proudly state that they eat so healthy and only drink diet soda.
So let's set the record straight...
There is NOTHING even remotely healthy about drinking diet soda. In fact, I've even seen several studies that showed dedicated diet soda drinkers got even FATTER than their regular soda drinking counterparts.
Here's some findings from an 8-year University of Texas study that I had read...
An excerpt from the study author:
"What didn't surprise us was that total soft drink use was linked to overweight and obesity," Fowler tells WebMD. "What was surprising was when we looked at people only drinking diet soft drinks, their risk of obesity was even higher."
"There was a 41 percent increase in risk of being overweight for every can or bottle of diet soft drink a person consumes each day," Fowler says.
Ok, as if we didn't already know how bad regular soda was for us, and now they're showing us studies that diet soda makes us even fatter than the already bad stuff!
There's a lot of complicating factors as to why this occurs...
One reason is that the artificial sweeteners in diet sodas create a negative hormonal response in the body that increases fat storing hormone production and increases cravings for more sweets and refined carbohydrates in the time period after consuming the diet drink.
Another reason is that people may subconsciously think that because they are drinking a diet soda, that gives them more leeway to eat more of everything else, hence consuming more calories overall.
I've said this all along, but the bottom line is that if you're serious about your health and body, soda of any kind (and artificial sweeteners in anything for that matter!) should be avoided at all times, except for very rare occasions when you can't avoid them.
Another article I did about artificial sweeteners explains more of the problems with them and good substitutes...
http://www.truthaboutabs.com/artificial-sweeteners-natural-stevia.html
So what is a good alternative to diet sodas?
The best alternatives are good old water with lemon or unsweetened iced teas... you have plenty of options with teas - green, white, black, oolong, red... be creative in making your iced teas and you'll enjoy it more. Plus, you get a greater array of anti-aging antioxidants.
I just add a little of the natural non-caloric sweetener stevia to my iced teas and I love them. I get my stevia here...

Health Tip of the day ...
1. Health Tip of the day (Flea Free Organically):
Looking for a fun way to greatly boost your circulation and lymph movement? Try a mini trampoline. They're affordable, safe and extremely effective at boosting circulation right in your own living room! Bouncing on a mini trampoline also boosts bone density and muscle mass, so it's a triple win!
2. Health Tip of the day (Flea Free Organically):
Do you suspect you might have digestive parasites of some kind? If so, you might want to check out the health benefits of oregano. It's extremely effective at eliminating parasites from the digestive tract. A good source is www.P-73.com but make sure you read more about proper use, because oregano oil is quite strong.
Note: FFO is far more effective at getting rid of internal parasites and you don’t have to take as much and it doesn't inhibit the naturally occurring intestinal flora. Having said that…the research on Oregano is incredible. Let me know if you would like an article on it.

*Olive Oil Component Could Avert Alzheimers Disease
*Olive Oil Component Could Avert Alzheimers Disease - October 20th, 2009
*A compound in extra virgin olive oil could deter proteins from disrupting nerve cell function that causes the debilitating effects of Alzheimer's disease.
In findings published in the journal Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, US scientists explain how this naturally occurring compound, oleocanthal, beneficially alters the structure of highly toxic proteins known as ADDLs. The researchers explain that ADDLs bind within the neural synapses of the brains of Alzheimer's patients and are believed to directly disrupt nerve cell function, eventually leading to memory loss, cell death and global disruption of brain function.
Binding of ADDLs to nerve cell synapses is thought to be a crucial first step in the initiation of Alzheimer's disease, said the lead research William L. Klein. Oleocanthal alters ADDL structure in a way that deters the protein from binding to synapses.

"ripened on the vine"?...
Did you know that tomatoes sold in grocery stores with the claim "ripened on the vine" are a complete hoax? The way this is accomplished is that the vine is cut off with green tomatoes still on it, and then later they are chemically ripened in a "veggie gas chamber" while the vine is still attached.

Im sure many of you got this in your email....
H1N1 precautions. Hopefully, some good advice....
Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS,DRM,DNB (Intensivist and Thyroid specialist) having clinical experience of over 20 years. He has worked in institutions like Hinduja Hospital , Bombay Hospital , Saifee Hospital , Tata Memorial etc.. Presently, he is heading our Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W).
The following message given by him, I feel makes a lot of sense and is important for all to know
The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precaution s. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.
While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):
1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).
2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap :o).
3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/ nasal cavity to prolife rate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.
4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but *blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*
5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.
6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.
I suggest you pass this on to your entire e-list. You never know who might pay attention to it - and STAY ALIVE because of it.

We Are Using Nature to Control Nature
We Are Using Nature to Control Nature
We are not using a toxic sludge hammer! Your pets will respond to the treat in a more normal way. Yes there might be an occasional flea but no flea or worm will be able to survive inside your pet or outs to a moderate degree. That means no infestation. Your pet immune system with be able to handle it. If you prepared your rugs and living spaces properly then those place me see an unfortunate flea but not for very long. FFO must be given all year round to reap the benefits of good health. You pets will not stop coprophagic (eating feces) behavior just because there are no flea in the winter. You cat will still catch the occasional bird or lizard. They need a little help from nature. So help them!. Give Flea Free Oganically, all year round so they can fight nature with nature!
That’s all for now.

Kody's Story...
I was handicapped in ’05 and at that same time my mother who suffered from Alzheimer’s also died. The Family dog became her service dog and after her death he became my service dog. He served our family for 15 years before dying. Kody was allergic to fleas but really hated the monthly spot treatments. Sometimes our best friends are our families or life partners, sometimes an animal comes into our lives that is something more than a best friend. Pet owner know what I’m talking about. Kody was my life friend. Kody was 80% wolf. We went everywhere together. He loved children, “no not for breakfast” …I use to joke with frightened parents. Sometimes we’d have 20 people around petting and loving him. We had so much fun together. I believe that his condition was due in some part to the toxic flea preparation I was forced to give him. He’s not here to benefit from Flea Free Organically but you can. Deciding to use organics take a little more effort then spot treatments and you may see a flea or two but you will always be armed against any infestation of flea, ticks intestinal parasites, worm and even some viruses.
If you want to kill a flea with a sledge hammer and the rest of the planet along with it, then use the spot treatments that only take care of fleas. After a while some people report that the spot treatment no longer work and you’re stuck with a sick flea bitten animal. Or you can keep you your family and you best friends happy, healthy and flea free organically.
