I saw this happing 30 years ago when I left the medical field. I started my research then on health, supplementation, herbs and food as medicine. But even that did not save me from the profession itself.
It time to take control of your health…
American medicine frequently causes more harm than good
*It is evident that the American medical system is leading cause of death and injury in the US
*The number of people having in –hospital, adverse drug reactions to prescribed medicine is .2.2million
* Tens of millions of unnecessary antibiotics are prescribed annually for viral infections.
*The number of unnecessary medical and surgical procedures performed annually is 7.5 million.
* The number of people exposed to unnecessary hospitalization annually is 8.9 million.
* 1 in 9 patients develop a hospital-acquired infection.
* The incidence rate of medical harm occurring is estimated be over 40,000each and every day according to the institute for Healthcare improvement.
* One in seven Medicare beneficiaries who is hospitalized will be harmed as a result of the medical care they received in the hospital.
*An estimated 450,000 preventable medications-related adverse events occur in the U.S. every year.
*At least 106,000 people die every year from adverse drug reactions.
*a mere 6% of all adverse drug reactions are properly identified.
* Most side –effects are instead mistaken for new disease symptoms, leading to further drugging and unnecessary medical procedures, increasing the risk of death even further.
*The cost of adverse drug reactions to society are more than $136 billion annually—greater than the total cost of cardiovascular or diabetic care.
* Adverse drug reactions cause injuries or death in 1 of 5 hospital patients.
* The reason there are so many adverse drug events in the US is because so many drugs are used and prescribed and many patients receive multiple prescriptions at varying strengths, some of which may counteract each other or cause more sever reactions when combined.
* We have reached the point of saturation with prescription drugs.
* The tons of antibiotics used in animal farming, which run off into the water table and surrounding bodies of water, are conferring antibiotic resistance to germs in sewage, and these germs are also found in our water supply.
*In 2009 there were nearly 3.68 billion prescriptions filled in the US that averages to almost 12 prescriptions for every person.
* Specialist gives more than 2 prescriptions per visit.
* Just over 89 percent of Medicare patients take prescription medicine daily.
* 46 percent take 5 or more prescriptions chronically
* Nearly 54 percent take meds prescribed by more than one doctor
* The united States now ranks 49th in the world for both male and female life expectancy down from 24th in 1999.
* According to 1009 data compiled by the World Bank, the US is 41 places behind other countries in infant mortality.
*The mortality rate of people between the ages of 45-64, who took their prescriptions drugs correctly, rose 90% in just five years.
*The American health care system skewed toward treating illnesses and diseases, not prevent them.
* judging by health care spending alone. The US should be the healthiest country in the world with the best medicine available…but it isn’t. that’s because the foundational causes of what’s driving health care costs in America are:
The emphasis on sickness and treatment, rather than health, fitness, and prevention which is primarily fostered by ultra-sophisticated marketing strategies employed by the drug industry.
Fraud…by both consumers, providers, and the drug industry.
Unnecessary procedures, medications, hospitalizations and screenings.
Medical mistakes, hospital –acquired infections, and surgical and device errors.
Modern medicine is no longer about health.
It is a for-profit disease industry that can only survive if millions of people get sick, and stay that way
• It’s an industry that refuses to consider vitally important aspects of health, like how stress lowers the immune system.
• How processed food, alcohol, excessive calories and insufficient exercise are recipes for disease.
• How exposure to the tens of thousands of toxins in our environment, (predominately pesticides) and in our food supply, have direct links to the illnesses you surfer.
• You’re told to stay out of the sun…yet more than 50,000 people die from cancer each year. Because they don’t get enough sun exposure.
• Deceptive marketing has changed our eating patterns, so now more than 90% of the money people spend on food is for highly processed, unhealthy foods.
• Until our health care system as a whole changes the emphasis of what we’re doing to health and healthful living exercise, proper nutrition and diet, and vitamin supplementation, we’re not going to see anything in our health care system change.
• Considering the enormous expenditure, we should have the best medicine in the world.
• However, careful and objective review shows the opposite.
• It’s time to quit bombarding your body with medical interventions and to reward yourself with the fit and healthy body that comes from living fit and lean.
It’s time to take control of your health.
